More wheels, more ways.
Improving people’s lives with the world’s best transportation calls for more than just cars — that’s why we’re adding scooters to the Lyft lineup. We believe scooter networks are a last-mile solution to fusing Los Angeles’ rail and bus networks with wherever you’re headed.
Get started
Tap the icon to see any available scooters nearby. Use your Lyft app to scan the QR code or to reserve a scooter ahead of time.
How to ride
- Kick-start the ground twice to get going.
- Press the throttle on the right-hand side of the handlebar to speed up.
- Hold down the brake on the left-hand side of the handlebar to slow down.
- One person per scooter — passengers prohibited.
- Weee!
Where to ride
Please ride your scooter in the street or in a bike lane when it’s available — but please always yield to pedestrians. Scooters are also not allowed in certain areas near Venice.
Follow traffic laws
Los Angeles traffic laws apply to cars, bicycles, and, yep: scooters. This means you must stop at red lights and stop signs, ride in the same direction as traffic, leave crosswalks free and clear for pedestrians, and, of course, yield to pedestrians. Always.
Wear a helmet
Always wear a helmet when riding a scooter. (But don’t worry — helmet hair is cool now.)
Parking your scooter
Please be mindful of others when parking your scooter. Park your scooter upright in the landscape or furniture zone of the sidewalk — and use bike racks or park curbside whenever possible. Do not block sidewalks, corners of sidewalks, crosswalks, pathways, bus stops, or wheelchair ramps.
Reserve before you go
Ensure that your scooter will actually be there when you arrive. Reserve a scooter ahead of time and we’ll hold your scooter for up to 15 minutes. You’ll be charged a per minute rate while the scooter is reserved. Once you unlock the scooter, you’ll also be charged an unlock fee.
Hit pause
See a friend? Latte (with oat milk, please) intermission? Just tap Lock in your Lyft app to lock your scooter (you’ll be charged a per minute rate while the scooter is locked) until you're ready again. We’ll wait.
