Send a Ride Credit Terms and Conditions

These Send a Ride Credit Terms ("Ride Credit Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Lyft, Inc., and any Lyft affiliates ("Lyft", "we", "us"), governing your purchase, redemption, and use of Ride Credits ("Ride Credits") utilizing the “Send a Ride” feature (the “Feature”).

By purchase, redeeming, or otherwise using Ride Credits or the Feature, you expressly acknowledge that you understand and agree to the Ride Credit Terms and the Lyft Terms of Service, including its arbitration provisions. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE RIDE CREDIT TERMS AND LYFT TERMS OF SERVICE (INCLUDING ITS ARBITRATION PROVISIONS), THEN DO NOT PURCHASE, REDEEM OR OTHERWISE USE RIDE CREDITS OR THE FEATURE.

Ride Credits are customizable, expiring coupons that can be purchased, customized, and shared using the Feature in the Lyft Application (“Lyft App”). You may share access to a Ride Credit you have created using the Feature, and that Ride Credit may be redeemed for discounts on ride fares, bikes, or scooter rides taken through the Lyft App. Both you and the person that redeems the Ride Credit utilizing the associated link (the “Recipient”) must have a Lyft profile in good standing.

Ride Credits are created by purchasing them through the Feature. Ride Credits can only be purchased using United States dollars and can only be sent or utilized within the United States. By creating a Ride Credit you agree that your payment method will be charged for the value of the credit you select, up to a maximum of $20, plus applicable taxes.

Ride Credits are customizable according to time, distance, and value as further described in the Feature (the “Parameters”). Recipients may only utilize the Ride Credit on their next eligible ride(s) that match those Parameters. Access to the Ride Credit is shared through the use of a link generated in the Lyft App. The Ride Credit link is unique to your payment and the Parameters you have set, but it is not unique to the Recipient; any Lyft user that gains access to the link may use it to redeem the Ride Credit and take a ride fitting the Parameters. It is your responsibility to safeguard the link. Lyft does not guarantee that the Recipient who utilized the Ride Credit will be the person you intended or that the Ride Credit will be used for any particular purpose. Lyft will not offer refunds for refunds for Ride Credits that were used by a person or for a purpose that you did not intend.

The Recipient must also maintain a valid payment method in the Lyft App. If a Recipient takes a ride(s) where the fare or charge (in the case of a bike or scooter ride) exceeds the maximum value of the Ride Credit, then the full value of the Ride Credit will be exhausted and the Recipient’s payment method will be charged the difference. If a Recipient takes a ride(s) where the fare or charge is less than the value of the Ride Credit then the remaining value of the Ride Credit will be refunded to you after they have expired.

All Ride Credits expire within 14 days after they have been created and any unused value will be refunded to the payment method used to create the Ride Credit. Refunds may take 5-7 business days to complete from the time the refund is initiated. You may cancel it up until the Ride Credit has been used by the Recipient, which will initiate a refund. Refunds are only granted to the payment method that was used to create the Ride Credit.

Ride Credits cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be used to pay for tips, cancel fees, damage fees, or other miscellaneous fees or charges. Lyft Credit cannot be purchased or used for any commercial purpose. Lyft reserves the right to limit the number and the value of Ride Credits that any user may create or receive. Lyft further reserves the right to modify, terminate, or cancel the Feature or any individual Ride Credits in its sole discretion. Lyft may suspend or limit your ability to create or receive Ride Credits for any suspected abuse, harassment, fraud, or other illegal activity.

Deletion of your Lyft account will result in the irrevocable loss of any Ride Credits outstanding at the time of deletion. Please check your account prior to deleting.

Lyft reserves the right to modify these Ride Credit Terms at any time, with or without notice. Your purchase or use of a Ride Credit following any update to these Ride Credit Terms constitutes your acceptance of those terms.
