Bike Angels Terms & Conditions
Last updated: November 11, 2024
1. Bike Angels Program
Bike Angels (the “Program”) is a rewards program administered by Lyft, Inc. or its affiliates including Lyft Bikes and Scooters, LLC (collectively, “Lyft,” “we,” “us” or “our”), through which you may earn points by using the shared micromobility programs owned and/or operated by Lyft (“Lyft Bikeshare Programs”). Lyft’s mailing address is 548 Market St., P.O. Box 68514, San Francisco, CA 94104. If you have any questions regarding the Program, please contact us through our Help Center.
2. Agreement to Terms
By enrolling or participating in the Program, you agree to these Bike Angels Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to the Terms, you are not eligible to earn points through the Program. These Terms are incorporated into the Lyft Terms of Service, to which you have agreed to be bound as a user of the Lyft Platform (as defined therein), and to any applicable terms and conditions of a Lyft Bikeshare Program to which you have agreed, such as the Citi Bike Rental Agreement. Nothing in these Terms is intended to supersede and/or conflict with the Lyft Terms of Service or any other agreement applicable to your use of a Lyft Bikeshare Program. In the event of a conflict, the Lyft Terms of Service shall control. There are no other agreements between you and Lyft related to your participation in the Program. These Terms (as incorporated with the Lyft Terms of Service and other applicable agreement as described above) supersede all prior agreements, oral or written, between you and Lyft.
3. Changes to Program or Terms
Lyft may change these Terms at any time in its sole discretion. Lyft may modify the Program structure, feature, rules, or rewards at any time in its sole discretion. Continued use of the Program after any such changes shall constitute your acceptance of such changes. Lyft does not guarantee error-free or uninterrupted access to the Program and Lyft may discontinue the Program, in whole or in part, at any time.
4. Program Eligibility
Eligibility for participation is determined by Lyft in its sole discretion. Your eligibility may be revoked at any time. In order to participate in the Program, or to view or redeem points you have earned, you must have a valid membership to a Lyft Bikeshare Program, and you must not be in violation of any applicable terms and conditions of a Lyft Bikeshare Program or the Lyft Terms of Service.
5. Earning Points
You may earn points by using a Lyft Bikeshare Program to complete certain rides. From time to time, the mobile application for a particular Lyft Bikeshare Program will display point-earning opportunities. Such opportunities often change on a minute-by-minute basis and therefore any given point-earning opportunity may be available only for a very limited amount of time. You will be eligible to earn the points displayed in the mobile application at the moment you begin a given ride, subject to Lyft’s review and approval in its sole discretion. Lyft will make reasonable efforts to issue any points you validly earn to your account within twenty-four (24) hours. Your points may not be transferred to others. Your points may be redeemed for certain rewards at the discretion of Lyft, as described on the relevant Program website corresponding to the Lyft Bikeshare Program you are using. Delivery of rewards after redemption may vary by reward type, but will be delivered within sixty (60) days after redemption. Lyft reserves the right to withhold or deduct points or rewards in the event that Lyft determines or believes that the receipt or redemption of the points was in error, fraudulent, illegal, a result of unintended exploitation of the algorithm, or in violation of these Terms. Lyft may cap your ability to earn or redeem points within a certain period of time and/or the total amount of points you may have in your account at a given time.
6. Restrictions
- You agree that you will not cheat or attempt to game the Program in any manner. Specifically, you agree that you will not engage in any practice of moving bikes between two or more stations, either alone or in concert with one or more Program participants, whether on a single or multiple accounts, in a manner that causes the point-earning opportunities in the Program to increase.
- You further agree that you will not take a sequence of "chained" rides (where each ride begins at the station where the previous ride ended), whether within a single account or across accounts, that increase the points earned compared to a single ride of the same net effect on the system.
- You agree that you will not participate in the Program via multiple accounts, or using a credit card or email address associated with another current or deactivated account.
- You agree that you will not violate any other applicable terms and conditions, including the Lyft Terms of Service or any applicable terms and conditions of a Lyft Bikeshare Programs, such as the Citi Bike Rental Agreement.
- You agree that you will comply with all applicable laws, rules, and/or regulations during your participation in the Program.
- You agree that you are not entitled to any compensation and/or reimbursements for participation in the Program, except as described above in Section 5.
7. Remedies
If you violate any of these Terms, then in addition to withholding or deducting any points or rewards you have earned or redeemed, Lyft may in its sole discretion temporarily or permanently revoke your enrollment in the Program, and/or temporarily or permanently deactivate your Lyft Bikeshare Program membership and/or your Lyft account.
8. Termination
You or Lyft may terminate your participation in the Program at any time by providing written notice to the other party.
9. Relationship
Your participation in the Program creates neither an employment nor an independent contractor relationship. Lyft is not retaining you to provide services, and nothing in this Agreement shall indicate that you are a partner, agent, or employee of Lyft.
10. Prohibition Against Retaliation and Discrimination
Lyft will not threaten, intimidate, discipline, harass, deny or revoke your participation in the Program, or discriminate against you in retaliation for exercising or attempting to exercise any right guaranteed under the law.
11. Disputes
Any disputes between you and Lyft regarding the Program must be resolved in accordance with the Lyft Terms of Service.
