Fort Mose Historic State Park is the site of the first legally sanctioned free African settlement in what is now the United States. Although there are no remains of the fort, visitors can learn more about the settlement in the park’s museum and explore the park grounds.
Our Welcome Centers offer tourist information from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. However, we are closed New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
