The Ultimate Guide to Giving Airport Rides

If you’re a passenger, check out this page instead.

While navigating airports can feel challenging, giving airport rides is a great way to maximize your earnings. Here’s some tips to get started:

Before giving an airport ride

  • Have your emblem and placard ready (if required).

  • Know how to find your waybill in the driver dashboard.

  • If you haven’t already, take our short tutorial to ensure smooth airport rides. Find the corresponding link below:

    • For drivers located in LAX click here.

    • For drivers located in Sonoma, Sacramento, Nantucket, Santa Barbara click here.

    • For all other markets click here.

Dropping off riders

  • Confirm with your rider what airline they’re flying and which terminal they’re going to.

  • Follow the signs to rideshare drop-off zones.

  • Leave as soon as you complete your drop-off to avoid any fines.

Waiting for a ride

  • Most airports have a staging lot for rideshare drivers to pick up riders (1). After entering the area, you’ll be added to the queue (2), and the app will show you how many drivers are ahead of you. Drivers can see how many people are in the queue before navigating to the airport by hovering over the airport on the map. Keep in mind that a high number of drivers in the queue doesn’t necessarily mean high wait times.

  • While you may need to wait longer for a pickup, with airport rides there’s more opportunity for long-distance drop-offs and bigger tips.

Picking up riders

  • The app will show you the correct pickup location, which may be inside or outside of the terminal.

Tips from top drivers

  • Have patience. At first, airport rides might feel confusing, but they’re worth it. Airport rides are longer, on average, which means larger earning opportunities.

  • Prep your car. Keep your car clean and have space in your trunk for luggage.

  • Help riders find you. Make sure your in-app info is up to date—like your driver photo and car details.
