We know Express Drive is more than a rental — it’s how you pay the bills. Rising costs have made Express Drive a more expensive program for us and our partners to operate at a break-even price. Our hope is that as operating costs go down in the future, we can pass the savings back to you. To continue offering (and improving) Express Drive, we need to make some changes — including updates that will affect your pay, as well as some of your most-requested improvements — starting Nov. 30.
Current weekly rental fee: $209 per week, plus taxes and fees
New weekly rental fee: $219 per week, plus taxes and fees
Note: This change will go into effect at your next in-person vehicle renewal after Nov. 30.
This is the amount you earn per-mile. The rate differs and is determined by the region where your ride starts. You can view the rates for your region by selecting Rate Card in the main menu of your app.
Note: This change will go into effect when you accept the new rate in your app, starting Nov. 30.
We hope you never have to use this one, but if you’re ever in an accident in your Express Drive rental, the out-of-pocket amount you’ll owe in the case of an accident is now much more affordable.
Current deductible: $2,500
New deductible: $1,000
Note: This change will go into effect at your next in-person vehicle renewal after Nov. 30, or on Nov. 30 if you rent through Flexdrive.
It’s one of your most-requested improvements to Express Drive, and it’s rolling out to all drivers in the program on Nov. 30. That means you can cash out instantly after you cover your weekly rental fee, any day of the week.
We’re improving the tipping experience to help you earn 20% more in tips, and make it easier for passengers to thank you for all the ways you go above and beyond. Your passengers can set a default tipping percentage, and we’ll automatically apply it when the ride ends — so they’ll never forget to thank you. And, you’ll be able to earn tips from the moment the ride begins.
