We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine as they live through an unjustified invasion of their country. Lyft has teams working around the clock to support our employees in the region and their families by providing financial resources and helping to ensure their safety.
We’ve also heard from the broader Lyft community that they’re eager to do what they can to help the Ukrainian people.
That’s why starting today and for the next month, riders can now support Ukraine with every ride. We’ve expanded our partnership with YMCA’s World Service Campaign to allow riders to round up their fare to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to emergency relief efforts on the ground. Lyft will match rider donations up to $500K.
Donations will go directly to response efforts including transportation, housing, food, clothing, counseling, and more for Ukrainian refugees in Romania, Moldova, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Riders who wish to participate can use the “Donate” tab in the Lyft app and select YMCA’s World Service for Ukrainian Relief Campaign.
We stand ready to activate additional LyftUp partnerships to support humanitarian aid, transportation and refugee resettlement as needs evolve.
Since the launch of Round Up & Donate in 2017, Lyft riders have donated nearly $30 million to causes ranging from disaster relief, transportation for veterans and support for victims of sexual violence. Round Up & Donate is part of LyftUp, Lyft’s comprehensive effort to expand transportation access to those who need it most.
