Texas Veterans in Need

Nearly 10% of people experiencing homelessness in San Antonio — and more than 25% of those in Houston — are military veterans. While community organizations have rallied to their aid, these veterans often lack personal vehicles or adequate access to public transportation to take advantage of the support and services available.

Bridging the Transportation Gap

We’ve partnered with with the Houston Food Bank, SAMMinistries, and other local organizations to identify veterans most in need and create our Veterans Support Program. Now, these veterans can receive free Lyft rides to career, housing, and food assistance programs in the Houston and San Antonio areas. 

Through this program, we’re providing $75,000 in free rides to reduce the transportation barriers faced by veterans experiencing homelessness and helping our community partners provide the care and services Texas veterans need and deserve.
