The COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented effect on businesses and the way we work, including how we get to and from the job. Essential workers continue to need access to reliable transportation, and all employees are feeling stress and uncertainty about their commute. As businesses consider when and how to bring employees back to offices, employers are performing a difficult balancing act and asking themselves, “When the time is right, how can I help my employees get to and from work while prioritizing their safety and well-being?”
That’s why today we’re launching Lyft Pass, a new product from Lyft Business that allows organizations to cover the costs of rides for their people — from employees and essential workers, to customers, guests, patients, and more — while prioritizing safety, convenience, and flexibility.
Lyft Pass allows organizations to create custom transportation programs that work best for their needs, while staying in control of budget and how the programs are used. And with our Health Safety Program that establishes new requirements to help protect riders and drivers, employers can feel confident that their employees’ safety is our priority.
Show employees you care. Organizations will stand out by providing a reliable transportation program that is easy to use and delights riders in the process. Employees can claim and use their Lyft Pass within the Lyft app that they know and love.
Customize ride rules and simplify options. Employers can customize their program rules and restrictions to ensure the rides are always in policy, including limiting to certain locations, times of day, and ride types.
Keep budgets under control. Our self-serve Lyft Business Portal gives employers direct visibility to monitor usage and spend. Determine how much credit or how many rides you’ll cover, so that costs never exceed your limits.
For years, organizations have partnered with Lyft Business to create custom programs that move their people in the way that works for them. At the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, we partnered with health systems like CommonSpirit Health, Henry Ford Health System, University of Maryland Medical Center, and AMITA Health to help essential healthcare workers on the front lines get to and from work. And today, top brands like Kroger and other retail giants are partnering with Lyft to solve their employee’s transportation needs. We were the partner of choice before and during COVID-19 shelter-in-place mandates, and now we’re creating solutions to help businesses navigate our entry into the “new normal.”
So far in 2020, we’re helping more than 200,000 employees across the U.S. receive employer-sponsored ride benefits from Lyft.
At Lyft, we’re constantly focused on how we can better serve businesses of all sizes by taking the guesswork out of how they move their people. Lyft Pass is the flexible product to meet the transportation needs of any organization, both now and in the future.
