In response to Hurricane Florence, Lyft is committed to doing our part to help those in need. We’re providing Relief Rides to help people move around after the hurricane.

Across North Carolina and South Carolina, we’re partnering with United Way’s 2-1-1 program. Those recovering from the hurricane or seeking transportation to Disaster Food Stamps (DSNAP) applications can text FLORENCE to 898-211 or dial 2-1-1 to receive a ride code for free transportation in North and South Carolina. Valid up to $30 between now and Saturday, Oct. 6.

We’re also working with key partners like the American Red Cross to help with the deployment of volunteers for relief efforts, as well as supporting those impacted by Hurricane Florence. Additionally, we’ll be helping American Medical Response first responders get to airports when returning home from their work on the front lines.

Prior to the storm, Lyft activated its Relief Rides program by providing free transportation to those evacuating across Virginia in partnership with the office of Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, and in North Carolina and South Carolina in partnership with United Way’s 2-1-1 program.

As safety is our number one priority, we continue to monitor the conditions and communicate with Lyft drivers, passengers, and government officials. As always, we look forward to providing rides to those who need them. Our hearts go out to those impacted by Hurricane Florence.
