Lyft is pleased to announce that Jerry Golden will join the company as Chief Policy Officer, effective August 19th.
Jerry is an accomplished policy leader with a history of using technology to bring people together. Most recently, he served as Global Head of Public Policy & Government Affairs at Eventbrite — where he led advocacy efforts, and co-chaired Fix the Tix, a ticketing reform coalition of artists, venues, marketplaces, and organized labor. Prior to Eventbrite, Jerry held government affairs roles in the tech, insurance, and financial services industries, including roles at the Internet Association, Vanguard, Nationwide Insurance, the American Council of Life Insurers, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
He serves on the board of Internet Works, a trade association committed to fostering online innovation, and also serves on the steering committee of the Coalition to End Social Isolation & Loneliness. Jerry lives in Washington, D.C., and will represent Lyft at the upcoming Democratic National Convention.
“I view Lyft's services as more crucial each day, and public policies can either help pave the way or impose roadblocks. Lyft's commitment to fostering in-person connection, supporting drivers' flexibility and independence, and helping cities thrive are all intrinsically connected to Policy,” said Jerry. “I'm thrilled to join Lyft and its talented and accomplished Policy team, and I can't wait to make an impact.”
With Jerry’s arrival, we’re excited to say that Jeremy Bird, our Chief Policy Officer since 2022, will officially transition into his role as Executive Vice President of Driver Experience. Jeremy’s success in developing the Policy team and advocating for driver policy has positioned him well to lead Driver Experience, and we’re grateful for his leadership of both teams these past months.
