Lyft Gift Card Terms & Conditions
The following Lyft Card Agreement (“Agreement”) describes the terms and conditions that apply to your Lyft gift card (“Lyft Card”). By purchasing and/or using your Lyft Card, you agree to the terms of this Agreement. Please keep a copy of this agreement for your records.
PLEASE BE ADVISED: This Agreement contains provisions that govern how claims you and Lyft have against each other are resolved (see Section 9 below). These provisions will, with limited exception, require you to submit claims you have against Lyft to binding and final arbitration on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative action or proceeding.
1. About Your Card
The Lyft Card is issued to you by Lyft, Inc. (“Lyft”). The dollar value that is loaded onto your Lyft Card is a prepayment solely for the use of Lyft rides. Lyft Cards are not returnable after purchase, not reloadable, and are single use cards.
No credit card, credit line, overdraft protection or deposit account is associated with a Lyft Card. Unless otherwise required by law or permitted by this Agreement, any amount on your Lyft Card is nonrefundable and may not be redeemed for cash. No interest, dividends or any other earnings on funds deposited to a Lyft Card will accrue or be paid or credited to you by Lyft. The value associated with the Lyft Card is not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
To use your Lyft Card, you must create a Lyft account through the Lyft mobile app, and have a personal payment method verified (if you have any questions about creating a Lyft account, you can go to https://help.lyft.com). Once you have an authorized Lyft account, you can upload the balance from your Lyft Card and the funds will instantly be available for use to pay for a ride. To upload your card balance, go to the Payment section of your Lyft account, and enter the 16-digit code on the back of the Lyft Card. All funds uploaded from the Lyft Card will be shown as credits available for Lyft rides. You may not load less than the full Lyft Card balance, and your Lyft Card balance will be zero once you have completed the upload. It may not be possible to use credits to tip your Lyft driver or to pay certain fees (e.g. cancellation or damage fees), so a personal payment method will be charged for these tip amounts in the event the credits do not apply. Lyft reserves the right not to accept any Lyft Card or otherwise limit use of a Lyft Card if Lyft reasonably believes that the use is unauthorized, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful.
Any credits uploaded to your Lyft account via a Lyft Card are nonrefundable and may not be redeemed for cash, unless otherwise required by law. These credits may only be used for Lyft rides, are unique to the Lyft Card, and are not to be considered the same as other credits that Lyft offers, such as promo, new user, or referral credits. These credits do not expire and they cannot be stacked or combined with credits not associated with that particular Lyft Card.
Your Lyft Card is for use in the United States only. All amounts loaded onto your Lyft Card are held and denominated in United States Dollars (USD).
2. Fees and Expiration of Card Balances
Lyft does not charge any issuance, activation, dormancy, inactivity, or usage fees in connection with your Lyft Card. Your Lyft Card has no expiration date nor does the value on your Lyft Card ever expire.
3. Receipts and Statements
Cardholders are not sent statements of itemized transactions from a Lyft Card account. The account balance for a Lyft Card will appear on your initial receipt from a point-of-sale register, and upon redemption into the Lyft app. When you take a Lyft ride and use your credits, the receipt will indicate that the purchase was made using a Lyft Card credits and will provide the remaining balance of your credits.
4. Billing Errors, Corrections
Lyft reserves the right to correct the balance of your Lyft Card account if Lyft believes that a clerical, billing or accounting error occurred. If you have questions regarding your transaction history or any correction, or if you dispute any transaction or correction that has been assessed against your Lyft Card, please call Customer Service at 1-844-493-9881. Lyft will conduct an investigation and communicate the results and correct any error that is verified as soon as the investigation is finished. Lyft shall have no liability for any billing error unless you provide us sufficient notice within 60 days of the date of the transaction in question. You should monitor your transactions and account balances closely.
5. Registration, Liability for Unauthorized Transactions

8. Cancellation of This Agreement
Lyft may suspend or terminate this Agreement and revoke or limit any or all of the rights and privileges granted to you at any time without notice or liability. Termination may result from your fraudulent or unauthorized use of the Lyft Card. If Lyft terminates this Agreement without cause, Lyft will refund or issue Lyft credits equal to the balance held in your Lyft Card account less any amounts that you may owe us.
9. Dispute Resolution
You and Lyft agree that any legal disputes or claims arising out of or related to this Agreement, that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration in the state of California. The arbitration shall be conducted by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (a copy of which can be obtained here)(www.adr.org), or as otherwise mutually agreed by you and Lyft. Any judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. Claims shall be brought within the time required by applicable law. You and Lyft agree that any claim, action or proceeding arising out of or related to the Agreement must be brought in your individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims, and may not otherwise preside over any form of a representative, collective, or class proceeding.
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU AND LYFT ARE EACH WAIVING THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY OR TO PARTICIPATE AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS ACTION OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

THE LAWS OF CERTAIN STATES OR OTHER JURISDICTION DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES, OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE DISCLAIMERS, EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU, AND YOU MAY HAVE RIGHTS IN ADDITION TO THOSE CONTAINED IN THIS AGREEMENT. IN SUCH JURISDICTION, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
