Look for a credit in the Lyft app anytime you pay the new central business district surcharge within NYC’s Congestion Relief Zone, now thru January 31, 2025.
With this new fee set to hit New Yorkers beginning Jan. 5, we want to help make it a smooth transition for everyone.

Qualifying rides
The new $1.50 congestion fee applies to all rides that start, end, or pass through the Congestion Relief Zone in Manhattan. It’s now part of the cost of these rides.
Look for your credit
Riders will get a credit when their qualifying ride officially ends. Look for your credit at the ‘Rate & Pay’ step or 24 hours after the ride, whichever happens first. Credits last for 7 days upon receipt.
